HOME GARDENING: TREAT THE ENVIRONMENT AND CONTROL CLIMATE CHANGE
Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability are widely spoken hot topics around the world. Due to the increasing global warming the climatic patterns have drastically changed and environmental deterioration is evident.
Home gardening is a practice carried out by people around the world. While a leading aim of home gardening is self-sufficiency, undoubtedly gardening is being done as therapy for the mind and as a passion.
While you are gardening, if you could use drip irrigation, rain water barrels (in order to reduce water consumption), use compost for your garden and grow more trees and plant which absorb CO2; you definitely help control climate change and conserve environment the way you can.
In the wake of 2020 with the COVID 19 pandemic, many countries went on to locking down cities and restricted the mobility for citizens. During this period, among many worldwide trends, a trend for home gardening surfaced.
To further encourage our community and recognize them for the little initiatives they take in the household level The Association for Environment Management and Sustainability announced a competition on home gardening “My growth And My Start” and Dr. Froilan D Mobo was awarded with a free annual membership to AEMS as he won the competition.
While working with and providing opportunities for scholars/ scientists in the fields of Climate Change and Environmental Studies, AEMS is also organizing activities on popular themes revolving around the related subjects.
The next big step of AEMS is Virtual Conference on Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability to be held on 21st of August 2020 and you are welcome to be a part.
